Art of Speed, Nike X Gran Turismo
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has finished the announcement meeting 'Gran Turismo 4 The First Fight' tonight (November 9, 2004).
During the meeting, the producer, Mr. Yamauchi, has further presented and explained the courses and stages of the Gran Turismo 4 that will be released on December 3, 2004. The game will be released as dual layer DVD-ROM (with 9 Gigabyte capacity).
After the presentation is the most excited part of the meeting, the Limited Editions:
1. NISSAN 350Z Gran Tirusmo 4 Limited Edition
The first announced limited edition is a real car! Mr. Yamauchi announced that a special edition 'NISSAN of 350Z 350Z Gran Turismo 4 Limited Edition' will be sold by Nissan Europe next spring. In addition to the 18 inch wheel, the break and seat will be in special design. Two body colors will be available, Sunshine Yellow and Black.
'Being able to announce a real car with a name of our game product is like a dream', said Mr. Yamauchi.
It is planned that 700 units will be produced. The image of the real car was also shown during the presentation.
2. NIKE / GRAN TURISMO Limited Edition
The logos of 'GT' and 'NIKE' suddently showed on the stage!! 'I came up with an idea of Driving Shoes when I was with my Nike shoe while working', Yamauchi said. He proposed a special edition Nike shoe with a thin sole at the front and with cushion in the heel.
Anyways, it is yet another special edition Nike Shoe, but definitely it will be a very precious one. The quantity is limited as 1,000 sets worldwide, and will be exclusively sold by Playstation Japan Shop.
The Nike limited edition will be in a aluminum case. Tentatively the package will include:

NIKE / GRAN TURISMO Limited Edition Shoe
There is some more secret about the Limied Edition T-Shirt, is that if you put on the T-Shirt to play the Gran Turismo 4 and with the EyeToy Camera with your Playstation 2, the game will recognize the T-Shirt and it will bring up an special original car 'NIKE ONE' which is designed by NIKE (*1).
*1 - You can still get 'NIKE ONE' car without the special edition T-Shirt, provided that you fulfilled certain conditions in the game.
